Sunova becomes Thornova

To standardise its branding globally, Sunova Solar has decided to unite with its sister brand Thornova Solar already used by the company in North America and Mexico. Thornova, based on the Norse pantheon hero Thor, represents perfectly the company values and is hence a valued namesake. Learn more about our rebranding process here.

Who we are

Founded in 2016, we are a Tier 1 player focusing on energy solutions and the design and manufacture of renewable energy components, such as photovoltaic modules, solar cells, inverters and solar battery storage solutions. By the end of 2023 we shipped 5.3 GW of cumulative modules worldwide.

What we do

Our R&D team focuses on constantly developing innovative solar technology for the distributed generation residential and C& I rooftop and utility scale ground mounted solar markets.

Where we produce for you

Currently, we operate 4 manufacturing plants in China and Vietnam and are building 2 more factories. By the end of 2024, we will have a fully opera­tional capacity of 10 GW of PV modules and 9 GW of solar cells.

Non-forced labor

2016

  • Sunova Solar Technology Co., Ltd founded in Wuxi, China. 
  •  Setting up 1st 200MW production facility.

2017

  • Sunova Solar Group AUS PTY LTD founded in Australia.

2018

  • Sunova Solar Vietnam Company Limited founded in Vietnam.

2019

  • The Brazilian branch of SUNOVA Solar was established.
  • The annual cumulative shipment reached to 500 MW.

2020

  • Production capacity expanded to 600 MW. 
  • Adopt large wafer size technology. 
  • Top 10 most popular module manufacturers in Brazil awarded by.

2021

  • Production capacity expanded to 1 GW.
  • The annual cumulative shipment reached to 2 GW.
  • Sign with PINGAN, Ariel-Re and LLYOD’S.

2022

  • Production capacity expanded to 1.5GW.
  • Construction of additional Factories in China and Vietnam commenced.
  • Operations planned to start Q1 2023.
