This collaboration aims to deliver high-efficiency and reliable solar PV solutions to the Balkan region, including Greece, Cyprus, and Romania. Under the agreement, Upsolar will serve as the exclusive distributor of Thornova Solar's PV modules in these countries, focusing on ground-mounted power stations and commercial and industrial rooftop projects.
The Balkan solar PV market has experienced rapid growth in recent years, driven by supportive government renewable energy policies and increasing market demand. Located in Southeastern Europe, the Balkans enjoys abundant sunlight and high solar radiation, providing ideal conditions for the growth of the solar industry. As of the end of 2023, Greece had reached a total installed solar capacity of 7,105 MW, with plans to expand renewable energy capacity to 25 GW by 2030, with solar PV being a core component of this target.
